Having gained a degree in graphic design at the London College of Printing in 1984 I shortly afterwards moved to Dorset.
Not the best move for a graphic designer perhaps but an inspired one for a fine art career!
I never fail to be inspired by the outstanding coastline and surrounding countryside, the ever changing weather and light.
I started to work in watercolour as I loved the delicacy and translucency and immediacy that can be achieved with this medium.
As my work grew I wanted to achieve greater depth of colour and texture in my work.
I use many varied and mixed materials to achieve this. For me this better represents the outstanding coastline,
geological features, agricultural and ancient landscapes which surround The Isle of Purbeck,
the essence of an ancient and unique landscape both the product of natural and human influences.
My work continues in this direction as I develop further.
I exhibit my work regularly in and around the Isle of Purbeck. Look out for me during Purbeck
Open Studios during the last week of May and first week of June.
I also illustrate children's books including the 'Mister Mutley' and 'Punch and Judy' series.
